OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Oversees the Strategy & PMO office reporting to Head of PDT DD&T. Lead the development of the strategic plan for the PMO. Responsible for portfolio management of large projects across 5+ business domains within Plasma Derived Therapies. Defines optimal processes to manage intake, define KPIs, monitor projects, and quantify value. Develops PMO maturity and transformation to ensure the continuous addition of value to the enterprise. Establishes partnerships in the business and implements a communication strategy that articulates the value.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Engage senior leadership and business partners to define the PMO mission, goals, and operating model
Coordinate with leadership oversee and manage a portfolio of individual projects/programs
Provide overall strategic governance for project/program management by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project management
Define and embed project control and governance
Establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all programs and projects
Ensuring alignment to the cross-lane roadmaps, create a collective plan to manage dependencies
Monitor the project/program from initiation through delivery, interfacing with both internal and external customers and cross-functional teams
Ensures consistent adoption of standard project management & business analysis tools, methods & best practices for large enterprise programs
Drive the right solutions as a customer advocate in all streams building business confidence in engineering
Prepare regular status reports to all levels of the business
Support Takeda finance team during yearly MRP (Mid-Year Planning) budget process and monthly/quarterly reporting

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
Understands the US pharmaceutical or healthcare market.
Expert in developing mid and long-range strategies that alignment to Corporate KPIs.
Has led a governance process, established KPIs and goals, and orchestrated implementation of strategy.
Successfully led a Corporate Program Management Office.
Strong business acumen; proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms.
Strategic planning capability combined with an outstanding ability to drive execution with a focus on directing operational enhancements to increase quality and effectiveness.
Proven ability to remove roadblocks and pivot quickly with shifting priorities and solve problems with a quantitative approach.
PfMP or PMP Certified
Experience in LEAN/Six Sigma practices (preferred)
Leadership
Is financially savvy and able to integrate mid and long-range strategy into the greater strategic objectives of Takeda.
Has led DDT initiatives.
Has successfully led a highly visible, complex project.
Experience working within a complex organization and building strong cross-functional relationships with key partners and motivate teams across functions and regions at all levels without direct authority.
Demonstrated ability to create a climate where people are motivated to do their best and teams apply diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead, and develop teams and have the managerial courage to make and stand by difficult decisions.
Record of attracting and developing strong analytic talent with a proven ability to grow and develop others.
Decision-making and Autonomy
Comfortable making decisions with large sweeping impacts for PDT DDT and Takeda as a whole.
Demonstrated ability to create frameworks and plans where nothing exists.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of the mid and long-range strategy, and the ability to manage issues and risks related to the implementation of initiatives and strategies.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
10 years of relevant strategy and planning experience is required, with a minimum of 8 years' experience project management leadership experience. Experience with HR initiatives nice to have.
Experience within a major global pharmaceutical or biotechnology company is preferred.
Must possess a proven track record of building and leading high-performance teams, as defined by business results.
BS or BA degree required. MBA is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. International travel will be required.
This position is currently classified as "hybrid" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.
