  • Structure, manage, and facilitate the execution of portfolios of BioLife Transformation projects/programs in multiple functional areas
  • Directly manage one or more transformation projects / programs
  • Maintain project records in an electronic ePPM system, report out on project progress, and maintain alignment with key project stakeholders
  • Lead through influence to embed BioLife Transformation operating and project governance processes
  • Identify, intake, and create business cases for new projects


  • Accountable for delivery of strategic projects linked to BioLife’s Transformation
  • Develop and implement a useful, well-organized structure for the strategic projects
  • Develop and implement operating mechanisms to manage the project work, including project plans, communication plans, workshops, team meetings, etc.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate project and program risks and decisions; uncover and monitor interdependences with active projects and programs elsewhere in the business
  • Manage the lifecycle of projects to ensure a structured approach to the work and avoid overloading resources
  • Partner with internal functions as required to ensure complete delivery of project scope, including Operations, IT, and Finance
  • Contiguously establish and update the business case for the strategic projects and programs, and assess their impact on forecasted business outcomes (e.g. volumes, margins)


Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Expert at “Seeing the big picture” and identifying the key elements that underpin critical business decisions
  • Subject matter expert on project and program management
  • Experience in portfolio management
  • Proficient at building and presenting executive reports


  • Able to rapidly resolve conflicts while ensuring buy-in from stakeholders
  • Able to both detect and rapidly adapt to changes in the business and operating environment
  • Able to lead others through operational change management associated with projects/programs
  • Able to plan and lead cross-functional workshops of varying scope
  • Must be able to plan the critical path and hold team members accountable for their activities

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Drives consensus on a path forward when there are ambiguous or conflicting viewpoints
  • Able to choose the optimal set of priorities among myriad competing priorities in a changing environment


  • Engages internally with senior level, mid-level, and functional leaders across functional groups, including Operations, Marketing, Market Expansion, Supply Management, Quality, IT, Finance, BioLife Centers, and Labs to establish a common plan and approach
  • Perform stakeholder analysis to understand barriers to change; identify risks and implement mitigation plans. Manage and execute communication to all stakeholder groups


  • Uses information technology and business processes to solve complex, poorly defined problems.


  • Must understand how to translate business priority into project and program priority.
  • Must understand the cultural, regional, and regulatory variation across the global footprint of Biolife to execute change management activities.


  • Minimum of a four-year Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in life sciences, business or engineering (or equivalent experience). Master’s Degree and/or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 3+ years Project Management experience
  • Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience, retail experience, and marketing operations experience desirable.


Core Competencies /Skills

  • Outstanding communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of management including the most senior leaders in Biolife. Must be able to tailor communications to deliver the same content to vastly different audiences
  • Proven ability to make meaningful contributions with a minimum of “spin up” time.
  • Functions well under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Uses independent judgment to identify, plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload as required.
  • Must be proficient in the application of MS Project. Must be excellent with PowerPoint and able to both perform and consume analysis with Excel. Experience with enterprise PPM software a plus.
