  • Ensures adequate staffing for apheresis activities at assigned BioLife Cellular Therapy Services (BLCTS) locations
  • Participates in hiring and actively manages cellular therapy services nursing and support staff
  • Manages BioLife Cellular Therapy apheresis nursing training and competency assessments
  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to multiple BLCTS locations as assigned within the United States.


  • Management of BioLife Cellular Therapy Services (BLCTS) Registered Nurses and Coordinators
  • Perform allogeneic and autologous apheresis procedures as schedule allows/requires
  • Oversee clinical operations of the facilities in assigned region, including staff and apheresis procedure scheduling, ensuring that company policies and procedures are carried out and that regulatory compliance standards are being met
  • Collaborate with BLCTS leadership to develop and implement processes, identify and resolve issues
  • Monitor staff, processes, and policies to ensure the highest quality of service

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Ability to apply the basic concepts of nursing, such as pathophysiology, hemo-dynamics, fluid and electrolyte balance
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required
  • Apheresis procedures
  • Central venous catheter access and care

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Determines BLCTS nursing staff assignments
  • Assesses BLCTS clinical staff competencies and develops training/re-training plans
  • Provides apheresis procedure guidance and support to BLCTS clinical staff, consulting with BLCTS MDs when appropriate
  • Coordinates with center management team and BLCTS Quality as needed to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and organizational requirements are met


  • Provides exceptional customer service to patients/donors, customers, and fellow employees
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team player
  • Effective coaching, mentoring, and counseling skills
  • Engages with direct reports to establish confidence, trust, and inclusion


  • Coordinates with BLCTS leadership, center management, and team to effectively problem solve, ensure safety of staff and patient/donors, and provide exceptional customer experience
  • Identifies operational opportunities for continuous process improvement, initiating changes to processes as needed
  • Collaborates with BLCTS leadership to effectively develop solutions to customer expectations


  • Occasional travel is required, sometimes requiring overnight stay
  • Effectively manages BLCTS teams remotely



  • Registered Nurse, Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Registered Nursing license (Multi-state nursing licensure may be required upon hire)
  • Clinical apheresis experience
  • Minimum 3 years of nurse management experience preferred


  • Certification in Qualification in Apheresis (QIA)
  • American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) membership
  • Familiar with applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding apheresis procedures
