Jeremy H Center Manager St. Cloud, Minnesota Employee Since 2001
Before joining BioLife in 2001, Jeremy was a driver for a multinational delivery services company. His route included picking up samples and donations from a BioLife Plasma Services center. “I always noticed the nice atmosphere and nice people,” he recalls. As a driver by himself all day, he missed having a team of colleagues around.
Ready for a change, he decided to first become a BioLife plasma donor. From there, he applied for a job and was hired. “I started at the bottom as a processor and hit every tier on the way up.” Recently promoted from assistant manager to center manager, Jeremy shares “it was the people who got me here and the reason why I stay.”
Working at BioLife means belonging to a bigger community, inside and out. Donors are local individuals who each have their own reason or story for donating. “In one of the centers where I’ve worked, we had a local family whose lives were affected when a loved one was diagnosed with a rare disease. The life-changing medications that are made from the plasma we collect, help to keep their family member alive. It really hits home when you hear those stories. It puts work into perspective.”
To Jeremy, working at BioLife has a purpose and his team “feels like a family.” And for good reason. His career journey is filled with meeting new people (including his now wife). Additionally, he’s had the great opportunity to travel to and open BioLife centers, train employees, and work with donors and new hires. “The team of people you work with every day at the center is fantastic,” he shares. But what motivates him the most is the work they all do together. “At BioLife, the work we do really saves lives every day.”
